Saved

I opened up my eyes
And then I saw a storm coming
I rose up my head
And could only see dark clouds forming
I put my feet down on the earth
And felt the ground shake beneath me
I looked to my way ahead
But saw only darkness before me
And I saw that I was all alone here…

Then I thought there was no hope
Then I thought the dark was eternal
Then I thought that I would die soon
And that I was lost forever
Alone, in cold and in pain
But then I saw the clouds part
And the sun shone through
And it shone on me…

Then I was saved
And I thought it couldn't happen
That my sins were too many then
And too great to be forgotten
But then the sea calmed down
As He spoke his words
In a soft and powerful voice
A voice that moved mountains
And healed bleeding hearts
Bleeding hearts like mine…

Who else could have done it
Who else could have achieved it
But the one who died
Who went down to the deepest pit
Who fought against death and won
Took the keys of salvation
From the fiery unforgiving flames
Then rose up after three days
And went up to the heavens
To watch over all of us…

Then my heart was at peace
And my soul was still
For I had found my salvation
I was rescued from the storm
And the shadows departed from me
As He walked on the water to me
Gave me his had
And smiled to me…

And as He took my hand
And guided me through the way
The way of truth and eternal life
I knew that I was saved then
For He was with me
And He walked with me…

He saved me
And He walked with me
He walked on with me
Walked on and on
Never leaving my side
Always with me…
